For a fixed wing there are two methods to deploy parachute. First is just a folded parachute attached under the belley of the plane. A servo can be assigned to open its door. Due to gravitational force parachute rolls down and open instantly. For multirotors its recommend to use spring loaded canister to throw the parachute out when required.
